Will the “e concept” become a reality?
The all-new “i” is set to become reality at your local dealership this November. This isn’t all we’re likely to see in this area in the upcoming years. Mitsubishi, like other auto companies, is striving towards production of smaller cars that can be applied to global markets, including the United States.
More news on the U.S. bound “i”
Last month we outlined some more specifics on the pricing for the upcoming Mitsubishi ‘i’, an all new electric car. We’d like to pass on to you that this hot little auto will be ready to go here at the store in November. There is a lot of press focusing on the ‘i’ and for good reason, such as the ones we’ve outlined in other posts and will be bringing to you as its local debut gets closer. Your Normal Mitsubishi dealer is set to have charging stations set up and ready to go, so you can see how they work.

Pricing info released for upcoming “i”
The much talked about Mitsubishi “i” is once again in the spotlight. Perhaps it’s a car you’ll seriously consider driving. With gas hitting the $4/gallon mark in some areas, people might get even more set on finding an alternative to paying high prices at the pump
The “i” became eligible for pre-ordering on April 22nd, which was appropriate, since that was Earth Day. A vehicle like the “i” is one that is easier on the world around us. It takes away a sole reliance on gasoline since it’s an electric vehicle, as well as being a smaller/lighter vehicle that overall uses less materials in its engineering.
Pricing Specifics
The “i” will begin at $28,190 for a base model, which is about $4k less than the Nissan LEAF. After the amazing $7500 tax rebate you’ll enjoy, the cost comes down to $22,490.
For $30,190 you’ll be able to enjoy some additional features:
- Fantastic sounding eight speaker stereo system
- Fog Lamps
- Higher quality interior
- Two-tone cabin colors
- Steering wheel and shifting knob covered in leather
Those of us here at your favorite Bloomington Normal car dealer highly suggested taking advantage of the above features. Of course, the choice is yours!
Other Associated Costs
Like many of the things we purchase, the all new “i” has some other fees that you have to factor in if you want to drive this exciting vehicle. There is a $299 deposit for the car. It has not been said if this deposit comes back immediately upon delivery of the “i” or if it’s rebated another way. A prospective buyer also has to pay a $99 fee to have their garage inspected to make sure it’s capable of recharging the auto correctly. This is a very important part, as getting the vehicle home and not being able to charge it would make for a stressful situation.
It is not set in stone when the “i” will join the Mitsubishi Galant here at O’Brien Mitsubishi of Normal. Our staff will be keeping up with this information and can help answer your questions. The “i” is an affordable EV that drivers here in Central Illinois might be interested in driving in the future!
