Will the “e concept” become a reality?

The all-new “i” is set to become reality at your local dealership this November.  This isn’t all we’re likely to see in this area in the upcoming years.  Mitsubishi, like other auto companies, is striving towards production of smaller cars that can be applied to global markets, including the United States.

Behind the “e concept”

Mitsubishi recognizes the many factors that are contributing to consumers wanting to scale down in size and focus on more efficient vehicles.  For example, rising gas prices and environmental concerns, along with government standards, will force all auto makers to focus on vehicles, such as the “e concept”, that use many different strategies that go easier on the environment.

The design of the “e concept” would accommodate the size regulations in all segments and countries.  In many instances, smaller, more efficient autos made first for countries such as Japan and other European nations often have to be changed to meet size and driving requirements here in the U.S.  With the “e”, Mitsubishi wants to design to be fitting for all, from the beginning.

The “e concept” will also feature a very modern, efficient design, as well as built big enough to accommodate 5 adults, and their luggage, comfortably.  On the exterior front, the concept car will have aerodynamic features that help with efficiency, power and more.  The design will likely be different than what we see with other models, such as the Mitsubishi Lancer, Bloomington, IL drivers can inquire about today at O’Brien Mitsubishi of Normal.

Mitsubishi is also planning on having the “e” run with low overall costs for the consumer. With this and other 100% electric vehicles, people often worry about the cost to charge, purchase charging stations, and more.  With cars like this becoming more popular, costs to run will also come down and be manageable for most people.

The rollout date here in the United States, namely at your Springfield used Mitsubishi dealership, have not been set in stone.  Expect to see it most likely several years down the road.  Contact us here at the store for more information about this exciting concept model!
